Structure:
A turnbuckle typically consists of a threaded body with right-hand threads on one end and left-hand threads on the other end. Each end is attached to a hook, eye, or other type of connector. This unique design with opposite threads allows for a special kind of adjustment mechanism.
Working Principle:
The turnbuckle works by rotating the central body. When you turn the body, the two ends, which have different threaded directions, either move closer together or farther apart. For example, if you rotate the turnbuckle in one direction, the hooks or connectors at each end will be pulled towards each other, shortening the overall length between the two attachment points and increasing the tension in the rope or cable attached to it. Rotating it in the opposite direction will have the opposite effect, increasing the length and reducing the tension.
