Manufacturing materials
Carbon steel: It has high strength and hardness, and is relatively cheap, suitable for hoisting operations in general environments. However, carbon steel shackles are prone to rust in humid or corrosive environments and require appropriate surface treatment.
Stainless steel: It has good corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance, and is suitable for humid, acidic and alkali corrosive environments, such as marine engineering, chemical industry and other fields. However, its price is relatively high, and its strength is slightly lower than that of carbon steel shackles of the same specifications.
Alloy steel: It combines the advantages of carbon steel and stainless steel, has high strength and hardness, good corrosion resistance and toughness, and is often used in occasions with high requirements for shackle performance, such as large-scale building hoisting, mining equipment traction, etc., but the cost is also relatively high.
Surface treatment
Electrogalvanizing: Plating a layer of zinc on the surface of the shackle can effectively prevent the shackle from rusting and corrosion, and increase its service life. The electrogalvanized layer is uniform, smooth, and has a good appearance, but the dispersion ability of the plating solution is limited. For shackles with complex shapes, there may be uneven coating thickness.
Hot-dip galvanizing: Immerse the shackle in molten zinc liquid to form a thicker zinc layer on its surface. The hot-dip galvanizing layer has better anti-corrosion performance than electro-galvanizing, has strong wear resistance and corrosion resistance, and is suitable for use in harsh environments, but the appearance of the shackle after hot-dip galvanizing is relatively rough, and may have a certain impact on the dimensional accuracy of the shackle.
Spraying: Spray plastic powder on the surface of the shackle by electrostatic spraying, and form a layer of plastic coating after heating and curing. The shackle after spraying not only has good anti-corrosion performance, but also has a certain insulation effect. At the same time, it can provide a variety of color options to make the shackle more beautiful.
Dacromet: It is a new type of surface treatment technology. The treated shackle has excellent corrosion resistance, heat resistance and no hydrogen embrittlement. The Dacromet coating has uniform thickness and does not pollute the environment, but the cost is relatively high. It is mainly used in occasions with extremely high requirements for anti-corrosion performance.
