Performance feature:
1. Superior Mechanical Properties
(1)High Strength: Polyester fiber itself has relatively high strength. The tensile strength of ordinary polyester packing straps can reach 200 - 300 kg, and that of high - quality ones can exceed 400 kg. Although the strength of polypropylene fiber is slightly lower than that of polyester fiber when used alone, after the two are mixed, the rope can maintain a relatively high overall strength, meeting the requirements of withstanding large tensile forces in various scenarios.
(2)Moderate Flexibility: Ropes made of polypropylene fiber have good softness and flexibility. When mixed with polyester fiber, the rope not only has high strength but also good flexibility, facilitating operations such as winding and knotting.
2. Good Wear Resistance
Polyester fiber has good wear resistance, and the wear resistance of polypropylene fiber is at a medium level. However, after the two are mixed, the wear resistance of the rope is improved. Under long - term use and frequent friction, the rope can maintain good integrity, reducing the risk of wear and breakage. It can be used in situations where a certain degree of wear resistance is required, such as ship mooring and towing.
3. Strong Chemical Stability
(1)Good Acid and Alkali Resistance: Polypropylene fiber has good acid and alkali resistance, and polyester fiber also has a certain tolerance to common chemical substances. The performance of the mixed rope in this aspect is integrated, showing good resistance to chemical substances such as acids and alkalis, and it can be used in some environments with a risk of chemical corrosion.
(2)Excellent Anti - aging Property: Polyester fiber has good UV resistance and is not easy to age or become brittle after long - term exposure outdoors. Although polypropylene fiber is not resistant to UV, when mixed with polyester fiber, this defect can be compensated to a certain extent, enhancing the anti - aging performance of the rope and extending its service life.
4. Buoyancy Property
The density of polypropylene fiber is relatively low, about 0.91 g/cm³, so it can float in water. The density of polyester fiber is relatively high, about 1.38 g/cm³. By reasonably controlling the mixing ratio of the two, the rope can have a certain buoyancy property. This is very practical for water operations such as ship mooring and water rescue, avoiding the inconvenience or danger caused by the rope sinking underwater.
5. Low Hygroscopicity
The hygroscopicity of polyester fiber is slightly better than that of polypropylene fiber, but it still belongs to low - hygroscopic fibers. The mixed rope inherits this characteristic, having low hygroscopicity. It is not easy to become damp and heavy due to water absorption, and can also reduce problems such as mildew and decay caused by dampness. It can dry quickly after being used in a humid environment or outdoors, maintaining stable performance.
